This Starlet Is The True Definition Of Old Skool
Owner Stats:
Name: Kelvin DeLeon
Location: Ocala, Florida
Age:18
Daily Grind: Taco Bell
Year, Make & Model: 1982 Toyota Starlet
How did you get involved with the car scene: Ever since I was a little kid my dad had me involved in cars. when I was 2 he had me in a go kart when I was 5 I was driving it on the track. When I was 7 I was driving a Jr.Dragster at Lakeland and when I was 8 I started to go to Gainesville Raceway. When I was 11 I learned to drive a 1991 Acura Integra on the street. That same day I learned to Full Throttle shift and brought it to work at Lakeland Motorsports Park. I came in Second Place at that event Bracket Racing.
Whats the story behind this build, is it your first: My first fast car yes. We bought this car running when I was 13 and had some trouble with a chassis shop that ended up putting us on hold for about 2-3 years. We got the car back and got everything finished up with the car within a year and took it out for some passes.
When I was 16 first pass with the car was a 7.0 in the 1/8 @ Lakeland and that was with no two-step and letting off the gas in between shifts.
How much power is it putting down: 500whp with nitrous and 22lbs of boost
Future Plans: Upgrade the suspension to an adjustable strange engineering, put 28-30×10.5×15 slicks, buy a new radiator (holding us back from using nitrous), and the most IMPORTANT is to buy a clutchless transmission like the gforce2000, jericho and liberty transmission’s. With just the transmission and a pass on nitrous that should bring us straight to the 8s.
Shoutouts or Thanks: God for keeping me here after a terrible car accident, My dad Pepe’s Paint in Ocala Florida, Flaco Tech in Orlando,Florida , C.W. Pence Rebuilders in Orlando Florida, Gato Performance Orlando, Florida. Shoutout to my friends that work at Motion Motorsports in Boston Massachusett’s. A HUGE thanks to Jonathan DeHate Photography for the last second photoshoot and excellent quality & Tito Chassis Shop.

Awesome car, I’d love to see it. I am in Ocala just about everyday and my daily driver is a Starion. Shoot me an email sometime.
