Personal Attention STI
Owner Info:
Name:Ralph
Age: 34
Car:2005 Subaru WRX STi
Location: Neenah,WI
Occupation: Sales Manger
Tuner Maneuver: So, Ralph.. What are some of your hobbies?
Ralph:I enjoy Mountain Biking, Video Games, Cruises, Car-Shows, Lapping/Track Days, and a bunch more.
Tuner Maneuver:When and how did you get into cars?
Ralph:Well, I have been into cars since I could drive, starting with Mustangs and modifying them and slowly working my way into imports. I had a 2001 Subaru 2.5rs 2 Door and it was one of the best cars I’ve ever driven. From there, I bought my 2005 STi (brand new) in April of 2005 and haven’t looked back!
Tuner Maneuver: Who were some of your influences?
Ralph:_I am somewhat influenced by any cars I see. Some are nice, MANY are really pretty bad. I don’t like cars that are ‘all show, no go’ and not a big fan of stereo/sound competition cars. I like my music loud, but there is a point where it becomes just ridiculous… I love watching WRC, any movies or shows involving cars (except Nascar stuff, LOL).
Tuner Maneuver: What other vehicles have you built?
Ralph:Starting from the beginning (to the best of my memory) A 1973 Opel GT, 1986 Mustang LX, 1987 Mustang GT, 1969 Mustang Mach 1, 1993 Probe GT, 1988 Chrysler Conquest TSi, 1993 Mitsubishi Eclipse AWD, 2001 Toyota Celica GTS, 2001 Subaru Legacy GT, 2001 Subaru 2.5rs.
Tuner Maneuver:Why did you buy the STi?
Ralph:ALWAYS wanted one since the first time I saw one on Gran Turismo on the Playstation. Fast, AWD, incredible handling, and not very common (in2005)
Tuner Maneuver:What made you start modifying your STi?
Ralph:The fact that it was the reason I chose this platform. I want something extremely fast, but could take a ton of punishment. I like the fact that it turns heads everywhere I go (especially after a nice detail…)
Tuner Maneuver:Did you run into any problems?
Ralph:I Bought three sets of wheels that didn’t look ‘right’ when installed. Also, trying to get it on a lift when I want to work on it is a pain in the ass.
Tuner Maneuver: How did you over come the problems?
Ralph:Got the perfect wheelset. Volk CE28n – 19 inch in Glossy Gunmetal. Took 4 months to get from Japan!
